Can I install RetroSupply Photoshop brushes into Procreate?

No, RetroSupply Photoshop brushes should not be imported into Procreate.

While Procreate 5 has the ability to import .abr Photoshop brushes into Procreate, we do not recommend it. Here's why:

1. RetroSupply Photoshop brushes will not behave correctly in Procreate.

The brush settings in Procreate 5 greatly resemble those in Photoshop, and thus, with the newest update came the ability to import .abr Photoshop files. However, it is important to note that though the settings are similar, they are not identical.

At RetroSupply, we spend hours, and often days, rigorously testing and improving our brushes until they reach their final version. We create brushes in the programs they were intended to be used in, as to make them behave to the highest standard.

RetroSupply Photoshop brushes imported into Procreate do not meet our high standard for usability and functionality.

Here are some side by side comparisons of some of RetroSupply brushes. As you can see, imported Photoshop brushes loose characteristics that they were intended to have when they were created for Photoshop.

2. RetroSupply's license only allows usage in the intended program.

To keep the integrity of our brushes, our license only allows you to install the brushes into the program for which it was created. For example, if our compatibility states Adobe Photoshop, you are only allowed to install those brushes into Adobe Photoshop, not Procreate.

Additionally, and for this reason, RetroSupply cannot offer technical support for users who are attempting to import Photoshop brushes into Procreate.

3. Procreate versions of our Photoshop brushes are already available.

Here's the good news!  The majority of RetroSupply's Photoshop brush packs already have Procreate versions. You can check them out here.

And the best part is, they were created in Procreate, for Procreate. That means we've spent hours testing and adjusting these brushes so that they meet our high standards and are almost mirror images to their Photoshop counterparts. That means you know you're getting the best brushes available.
